Dry vs Dehydrated Skin

Dry vs Dehydrated Skin

Dehydrated skin lacks water and is considered a skin condition. Dehydrated skin means that your body is losing more water than obtaining and not drinking enough water. It can occur from working out as well from excessive sweating.

Dehydrated symptoms can include

  • itchiness
  • dull skin
  • darker under-eye or sunken eye circles
  • increased appearance of fine lines and surface wrinkles

dry skin lacks natural oils(sebum) Also, dry skin is a skin type

Signs of dry skin include:

  • scaly skin
  • white flakes
  • redness
  • irritation

Dry skin can sometimes associated with skin diseases such as psoriasis, eczema. These aren’t the same as having this dry skin type, nor are they the same as dehydrated skin.

Dehydration is treatable with lifestyle changes. Replenishing your hydration is the first major step, so it’s important to drink plenty of water. My personal favorite drinks are alkaline water, low sugar body armor sports drink, low in sugar coconut water, and Tea.
